Terms and Conditions:
By booking your pool opening with us, you agree to the following terms and conditions:
- Appointment Scheduling: Mirage cannot guarantee a specific time slot for your pool opening and will not be held liable for failure to complete the opening due to issues with accessibility or equipment availability. Our schedule is based on geographical efficiency & is subject to change due to weather, traffic, or other unforeseen circumstances.
- Clear Access: The homeowner is responsible for ensuring that the driveway and backyard are clear for the opening crew to access the property and transport equipment without causing damage.
- Equipment and Accessories: Any winter cover, storage containers, pool accessories, or equipment must be visible and accessible for the opening crew. If these items are not accessible, they may not be installed or may incur additional charges for a follow up.
- Disconnected Pumps: The homeowner agrees to reconnect electrical wires that were disconnected at the end of the previous season. If not, pumps will be unable to start up and a service call for a service technician will need to be arranged.
- Electrical Access: All relevant breaker panels must be accessible or turned on prior to the arrival of the opening crew. Failure to start pool equipment due to electrical issues will result in a follow-up service, billed at our regular rate.
- Water Access: A garden hose or running water must be provided for cleaning the winter cover or rinsing off the deck. Mirage is not responsible for any debris left on the cover or around the pool area if water is not made available.
- Sump Wells: It is the homeowner’s responsibility to ensure that sump wells are drained before the pool opening to prevent damage to the pool liner. Mirage is not responsible for wrinkles caused by groundwater.
- Unreported Features: Waterfalls, spas, deck jets, or additional pool features not disclosed at the time of booking will be documented and billed at the additional cost.
- Tarp & Water Bag or Lock-In Covers: Once the cover is removed, the first phase of the opening is complete. The homeowner must notify Mirage once the pool has reached operational water level for a return visit.
- Pet Safety: To ensure the safety of both the pool service technicians and your pets, the homeowner is required to keep all pets inside the house or otherwise safely contained while pool services are being performed. Mirage Pool & Spa cannot be held responsible for any incidents involving pets during the service.
- Liability: Mirage Pool & Spa reserves the right to refuse service if the backyard is deemed unsafe or unclean due to pet waste or other hazards that pose a risk to the health and safety of our technicians. Should service be delayed due to this, additional follow-up fees may apply.
- Child Safety: For the safety of your children and our pool service technicians, we ask that all children remain indoors or be supervised and kept at a safe distance while pool services are being performed.
Additional Considerations:
Failure to provide necessary items may result in a follow-up service ($). Mirage Pools reserves the right to refuse service if the property is deemed unsafe or if conditions pose a threat to a safe working environment. This includes but is not limited to inclement weather, insect or rodent infestations, hazardous conditions, or obstacles in the work area.
Important Notes Regarding Post-Opening:
- Water Filling: The homeowner is responsible for filling the pool to operational level. Once the water level is achieved, the homeowner must notify Mirage for an equipment start-up.
- Vacuuming and Cleaning: Mirage does not provide cleaning as part of the full opening. The Opening Cleaning Service can be added for $269.00, which includes 2 x 1 hour follow-up visits to clean the pool. Excess debris is subject to extra charges.
- Floating Liners: If groundwater causes the pool liner to float or become detached from the coping, additional services will be required and can be scheduled following the opening. These services include “Pump Behind Liner” or “Liner Pull” and may be subject to additional fees and waivers.
- Continuous Circulation: It is recommended that the pool pump be run continuously for three days following the opening for filtration. Industry best practices suggest that return jets should be directed downward at a 45° angle to improve circulation and chemical distribution.
- Stuck Grommets: Any grommets that are stuck or seized may require additional follow up visits at additional cost. Mirage is not responsible for any incidents that occur for grommets left unattended to.
Glossary of Terms:
- Equipment Start-Up: Includes assembly of standard unions, priming, and starting the pump to check system functionality. This does not cover heater start-up.
- Excess Debris: Includes branches, stones, waste, and foreign materials in the pool that may require extended time for removal.
- Follow-Up Service: A return visit to complete a service call.
- Operational Water Level: Water level within 2 inches from the top or approximately ¾ of the way up the skimmer opening.
- Service Call: A one-hour visit to assess and attempt repairs.
